NEET Supreme Court hearing today LIVE: The SC has adjourned the hearing on the candidates’ petition regarding the irregularities and malpractices that occurred during the NEET UG 2024 examination. NEET Supreme Court hearing today LIVE: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of petitions regarding the irregularities and malpractices that occurred during NEET UG 2024 and their demands for reconsideration. On Wednesday, the Center informed the Supreme Court that no anomaly was found in the NEET UG results 2024. There were also no signs of mass malfeasance or localized perceptions that the examinees were benefiting from the leak.

The bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud asked about the steps taken by the Center and the NTA to recognize the grantee candidates. SC also directed both to submit issues by July 10, 2024 till 17.00.

“The fact that the sanctity of the examination has been violated… compromised is beyond doubt. Now the question is how widespread is the violation,” Chandrachud said while hearing petitions from aspirants asking for or against the cancellation of the NEET UG 2024 exams held on May 5 2024.

“If we cannot identify candidates guilty of errors, the re-examination must be ordered. If you cannot separate the chaff from the chaff, the dirty from the dirty, they must be ordered…”, Chandrachud said.

On Wednesday, the Center submitted a fresh affidavit to the SC stating that there was no evidence of mass neglect of limited students who get an unfair advantage of abnormal marks. In the statement, it was mentioned that the analysis of data from IIT Madras showed that the distribution of marks resembled a normal bell curve, which is common in major exams.

This was also confirmed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for NEET, which submitted its own statement. They stated that out of the 47 candidates involved, 17 were from Patna and 30 from Godhra, and they were believed to be part of the paper leak and had problems with OMR sheets.
