Brockington will play in the NBA Summer League with the Pelicans

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Former Cyclone Izaiah Brockington has signed to play with the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA2k25 Summer League. The games are scheduled for July 12-22 in Las Vegas on UNLV’s campus.

He spent a majority of last season in the NBA G League, playing in 33 games with the Birmingham Suqadron (New Orleans Pelicans). Brockington averaged 12.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He made 26 starts in his 33 appearances while averaging 28.6 minutes per game. Brockington made his NBA debut on March 5 against Toronto, scoring four points and pulling down a pair of rebounds.

The Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2022, Brockington put together one of the best seasons in school history, averaging 16.9 points and 6.8 rebounds while playing and starting all 35 games in his lone season at Iowa State. He was also an All-Big 12 First Team selection, while earning all-district honors from the USBWA and NABC.

Brockington ranked in the top four in the Big 12 in both scoring and rebounding, while scoring in double figures in 30 of 35 games, including 12 with 20 or more. He tallied seven double-doubles on the year, while scoring a career-high 35 points in a win over West Virginia. He led the Cyclones to a 22-13 record and an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
