Shreveport hotels are booking up for next month’s Humor & Harmony Festival

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Thousands of people are anticipating next month’s Humor and Harmony festival hosted by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

Two major hotels in downtown Shreveport have sold out ahead of the festival. City leaders confirmed that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s team has already booked at least 750 hotel rooms.

“It creates excitement and then that excitement spills over into the community as people start to see all the preparations and activities leading up to the actual event,” said Janie Landry of the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority.

According to SPAR, at least 30,000 thousand visitors are expected in the city of Shreveport during the Humor & Harmony festival.

“Those visitors to the event are going to be looking for places to eat, they’re going to be looking for places to shop, they’re certainly going to need places to spend the night, lay their heads,” Landry said.

In downtown Shreveport, two major hotels are already completely sold out during the festival. According to the hotels’ websites, the Hilton downtown and Sam’s Town are already fully booked.

There are still hotel rooms available in downtown Shreveport. But it will cost a pretty penny. For example, if you want to stay at Bally’s Hotel, it will cost you over $1,100 with tax for a standard room per night, according to their website.

“When you hear good things like this event, we need to hear the good things because we don’t hear them enough, and Shreveport has a number of opportunities. Curtis Jackson’s investment is certainly one that brings excitement,” Landry said.

The festival will feature a comedy show and concert featuring dozens of celebrities, a talent show, car show and a 3-on-3 pro basketball game.

If you need a place to stay, there are still hotel rooms available in Shreveport and Bossier City. Airbnb is also still available.

The Humor & Harmony festival will be held from Thursday 8 August to Sunday 11 August.
