Westfield Montgomery Mall transforms into Dino Safari Festival

A parking lot at the Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda is currently being transformed into the prehistoric era with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs and light art. Local leaders joined one opening ceremony on Monday for the Dino Safari Festival.

The festival is every day until Sunday, August 4 — hours are 17.30-21.30 Monday to Thursday and 17.00-22.00 Friday to Sunday.

Dino Safari features more than 70 life-size animated dinosaurs and ice age animal light sculptures, according to a release. The festival features attractions such as a dino bouncy castle, t-rex thrill experience and dino speedway, as well as educational experiences such as a safari dig and dino fossil hunt.

Tickets range from $16-$20 per person and can be purchased at the door or online. Admission is free for children aged three and under. The festival is organized by LuminoCity.

Some proceeds from the festival go to Interfaith Works.
