A hit-and-run driver was arrested in Garden Grove on Sunday, July 7, on suspicion of hitting and injuring a pair of bicyclists and three children they were towing.

The victims were riding their bikes in the area near Haster Street and Twintree Lane around 7:30 p.m. when they were all struck by a vehicle, according to Garden Grove Police Sgt. Nick Jensen. It was not immediately clear if they crossed paths.

Both adults had carriers on their bikes and were towing the children, video from the scene showed.

All five victims were taken to hospital, with two children and one adult in critical condition, Jensen said.

The driver fled and was later arrested, says Jensen. Information about the driver was not available Sunday evening.
