Jamestown looks to make Pilot Food Truck Program permanent

The The city of Jamestown thinking of doing a permit pilot program food trucks in the city permanently.

The food truck pilot had initially been approved by Jamestown City Council year 2020.

Director of Development Crystal Surdykspeaks to General Safety Committeesaid the city and county health care department has seen an increase in applications for food trucks this year, “We’re very close to having it and it’s going to be nice and streamlined. But we need to get an ordinance on the books officially. We have been working under the pilot project and it has served us so far, but with the number of food truck applications, we see it behooves us to codify this.”

Chairman of the National Security Committee Jeff Russell questioned how the state’s one-day alcohol event permit, which now includes liquor, could affect food trucks. Surdyk said she would have to look into it.

She added that she hopes to bring with her the food truck regulation before the council for a vote in August.
